550 Vanderbilt Avenue

The facade for 550 Vanderbilt Avenue

550 Vanderbilt Avenue is one of the premiere luxury buildings in Brooklyn.  It’s a marquee residence in Prospect Heights and the first in the new Pacific Park neighborhood.

The Residences

There are 268 units in the residential building across 17 floors.  The apartments range from studios to 4-bedroom penthouses to townhouses with separate entrances.

COOKFOX designed all of the residences and interiors, which are noteworthy for the highest quality finishes with Carrera marble countertops and Miele appliances.

As 550 Vanderbilt is LEED certified, every apartment has large windows allowing for ample natural light.

The Address

550 Vanderbilt Avenue is a convenient location for all the surrounding amenities in the area- Barclay’s Center, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Museum, Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and Prospect Park.  The proximity to Vanderbilt Open Streets and all the noteworthy restaurants and bars is an absolute premium.

You’re also incredibly close to Park Slope, Fort Greene, and Crown Heights- indeed, in the center of Brooklyn!

My friends who live there enjoy the convenience of a luxury building with the proximity to the tree-lined streets and the charm of Brownstone Brooklyn.

The Building

One of the stand-out features of 550 Vanderbilt Avenue is the amenities.  If you have younger children, there is a fabulous playroom.  If you ever work remotely, there is a great co-working space.  In the warmer months, reserve a grill on the rooftop patio with custom garden beds. In total, there are over 10,000 square feet of amenities residents have access to.

Because of the unique way this property was developed, the condominiums also have a tax abatement until 2042! Much later than most residential buildings around Brooklyn.

Pacific Park

Pacific Park has been over a decade in the making, and in the past year, the vision has come to life.   Situated on the stretch from Flatbush Avenue to Vanderbilt Avenue, Pacific Park has proximity to major transportation and cultural hubs.

In June 2023, Chelsea Piers opened in Prospect Heights, and it has quickly become a favorite neighborhood amenity.  The facility has dedicated spaces for both children and adults.

Pacific Park is also building a fantastic planned green space in which the first portion is open.  The renderings I’ve seen portray a park very similar to Brooklyn Bridge Park- a true urban oasis- surrounded by retail and residential.

I’ve built a few robust resources for more information on Prospect Heights:
